Wish I looked like this

If I ever had to be nicely dressed, I would totally want to look like this. Love the Annie Hall meets Chloe FW09, but I would accessories differently. Wouldn't mind the accessories either--vintage round sunglasses, Preen Jag Bag and Opening Ceremony W2 Bow Wedge.

Pretty Old

This weekend I hit up some great thrift shops in Gastown, and couldn't resist documenting some pretty vintage pieces. LOVE the bracelets....and of course the hippie in me was drawn to the beaded flower necklace!! The total eye catcher was the hand painted Dali ties from the 70s. I wouldn't wear it, but a great collector piece. xxRach

Inspirations: The 3 Js ...and Y!!

SO let it be known...I really do have a true love for the 60s & 70s....something about the free spirit...AMAZING music...and with that stems some iconic fashion too! As of lately (and on repeat) I have been listening to Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and some of The Beatles, and quite frankly I ADORE the styles that Jimi, Jim M and John rocked....INCLUDING Yoko Ono. So inspired by the tailor suits, to the leather pants, AMAZING detailed jacket Jimi rocked with striped pants and the accessories!!! Classics....which are inspiring me immensly. instanx gratification

So, I'd really like a polaroid, or just one that works, but truth be told, we know they're dying. Looks like Fuji has tapped into the market with the Instanx camera and the photos look pretty good (above is from an Opening Ceremony staff party). I love photography and often use my Diana, but that's getting expensive too. Not sure how much a case of film costs for this bad boy yet, but I will find out. Looks like it will be worth it. xxlil

I fully have a LOVE for statement pieces, statement art, statement fashion. Replace a bow tie with a "Fuck You" badge and you are set for the night. I'm thinking I want to get a blazer and put "Fuck You" elbow patches! How fun and crass! Fashion & Life should be fun right?! The new Vogue Paris with Kate Moss is totally awesome. I kind of really love how they used swarovski crystals vs studs (which I am a HUGE fun of) but this adds a nice refreshing look. I think glue gun season is baaaack ha! xxRach

forever and ever

So ideally in a perfect world, all my fashion and shoe loves would be affordable and quite cheap (haha!!) but that's WHY we have forever 21. I picked a few favorite pieces that I could really use for fall. The floral dress with black stockings and Dr.martens and the faux leather studded biker jacket...the faux leather skirt with an Alex Wang T....the studded zipper skirt with a collar shirt....and the bag with all! And all this together would cost about 150$. Who says you can't get a full outfit under that!! xxRach

Turned Out

Came across this awesome style blog, Turned Out, and totally love it. Love many style blogs for that matter, but particularly enjoy ones like this that show more relaxed, effortless style. Don't get me wrong--I love the Satorialist and Garance, but most of their subjects look like they came straight from a photo shoot or Balmain's showroom--all good things, just not how I would ever dress in my wildest dreams on a daily basis. I mean, there are those shoes again (love the baby blue) and those pants! Must find a pair like them soon. So, thank you R29 for showing me all that is good in life. Serisouly don't know how I got by before I knew you existed. xxlil

Burberry just showed their SS10 collection...and I am totally digging it. The draping on the skirts are so beautifully done..the pastel/neutral colors are so refreshing for fall, while keeping basics such as a great trench coat, a lovely cardigans - plus every girl needs a SILVER jacket!! Loves it. And can I just say the shoes are totally awesome. Loving the sock combo...even matching..I know...matching!!Check out the rest of the collection here. xxRach

Preen Me

So, I was just about to post about Whyred, but Rach beat me too it. I've been meaning to put up some pictures of Preen SS10 for a while, so here they are. They can do no wrong--that blazer, those pants, that shade of pink. The cut of everything is so fantastic and the waffle chiffon adds a perfect playfulness. Love it.
