Confetti Systems

So, i know my birthday just past, but these pinatas would be pretty awesome considering my intense sweet tooth (fill it up with sour straws, tropical dots, tropical starbursts, skittles, etc) although i don't think i'd have the heart to smash it. AND the pinatas are even cheaper than the necklaces ($135 vs $190), so this won't even set you back too much. Disco ball sculpture anyone? Yes please. xxlil

The Olsen Ladies

Style.com is honoring Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and crediting them with bringing much needed unorthodox and unpredictable fashion to our attention. While I generally love what they put together (even if I couldn't pull it off in my wildest dreams), there are a few times I'm left scratching my head. But, no worries, I commend them for being so bold.

Anyway, I particularly love the above to looks on MK. I remember first seeing her in that Giambattista Valli and swooned and love how she looks below in Elizabeth and James. Sweet Jesus I need to switch things up. xo, lil

ps. totally lied about i-D (but not on purpose!!!). I.D. folded instead, which is indeed still sad.

Print or online?

I love a good magazine. The tangibility of turning the bags will never get old, from the thicker pages of Lula to the thinnest of the T. I remember hiding out in the attic as a girl and flipping through all of my mom's old Harper's Bazaars and Vogues and I love coming across a personal old favorite years later. Sadly, books are closing every day (i-D just bit the dust) and while I would delight in subscribing to a number of fantastic publications, every day I try to figure out where to put everything in my small apartment that I will never move out of. Thankfully, the books got smart and started incredible online versions. While some offer a direct replica of the print version (the T for example) others have inspiring blogs that mimic the vibe of the regional (the T does that too). The above pictures are from Lula Magazine's online scrapbook and I appreciate that they're not totally fashion-centric. From top to bottom, photos by Lina Scheynius, Alia Penner and Alexa Chung (of all people). love, lil

Cos i like you

Enter Cos. Seemingly owned by H&M and only available in Europe (yet another reason to try living in Paris for a few months), this label offers affordable and covetable pieces. While I hardly dress in all black, the limited pallet is welcomed and keeps the eye looking at the silhouette, which I desperately need to switch up. The amazing wedge booties are 150 euros and the looks are from their 09 Fall Collection. Oh, and the polaroid like stills are a nice too. What's not to love? xlil

Needing!!

These are from Rick Owens and will be available in Paristexas during February. They are AMAZING and totally what I need for spring!!! xxRach

Alyssa Norton

I went to this jewelry party the other night and along with Subversive Jewelry and my friend's vintage collection (i'll figure out a link for that soon) there was Alyssa Norton. Her pieces are clean and unassuming and require close inspection. Although this is not a terribly representative selection of her work, you can tell she likes working with subtleties. Love the idea of wrapping otherwise standard pieces (a simple chain, rhinestones) with something softer--Nancy and I loved that pieces they looked almost looked like something a little sister would make for a sibling instead of being super big and flashy. Adding to my list. Oh, and her logo is pretty sweet too. xxlil

If i were a rich girl...

..i would treat myself to lots of great jewelry (and good food and nice clothes and lots of vacations and and and). I wear the same pieces ever day (three rings and two chains around my neck) and pop on the same Lisa Levine necklace or terquoise bracelet that my high school boyfriend gave me ages ago. It would be nice to switch it up with these lovely pieces every once and a while. Feast your eyes and learn up Rach--what will you be making me when you go down to sunny Mexico?! Something fabulous i know. xxlil

Sunday's Best. Saw these guys at the Opening Ceremony showroom and instantly fell in love. Would be happy with any and all.

Aesa. So beautiful, so simple and straight out of Brooklyn.

Dream and Awake

Dream and Awake refashions old duds into new-and-improved ones. While not a new idea, what's the best about this brand is the photographs behind it. They've got photographers like Roberto Rubalcava and Lina Scheynius taking pictures of their wares, but you would never think the two were related--just fashionable muses looking perfect and camera ready, without all the styling. Love. xxlil

Brilliant

They have some pretty amazing art at the New Museum in New York right now. I LOVE art like this, so brilliant and quirky. Makes me smile. xxRach

Nicole Richie+Shoes

Nicole has debut her newest collection for House of Harlow, and she has added some shoes! I am quite impressed. The heels are awesome, and the style, its very pretty and has a nice retro 60s charm which I fancy. But these are the only ones I really like/want xxRach

Looks of LookBook

So I was browsing the fashion blog LookBook, which is normal people from all over the world and picked a few favorite!! I love the denim jumper and blazer, and the short sleeve boys blazer is amazing too! Check it xxRach

anywho

I LOVE LOVE this outfit so MUCH! Its so feminine, but the contrast of the oversized denim shirt gives it that perfect balance. Its from one of my fav blogs from the lovely danish girls at anywho.dk. Check it out. xxRach

Surprisingly Refreshing

Nine West has really been impressing me the last few seasons, and I was internet "window shopping" and saw these GREAT shoes that come out Dec 29th and both UNDER 200$ (boots $198 & shoes $150). I kind of think I need both and love the masculinity in them, as well as the light wood heel. Is it too much to get both? ha xxRach

black+leather+Kate = Obsessed

Kate Lanphear is definitely one of my fav style icons of this modern day! Love the whole look and have been wanting a leather skirt for yeaaaaaaaaars! The time is now!! xxRach

Won Hundred

Came across this Danish line called Won Hundred. While the collection is nothing mind blowing, I love how simple everything is while still having a unique touch that makes it better than most. It's also not terribly expensive (top dress comes in around $181 and the shoes $302), which makes me think I could potentially buy the shoes, although I probably shouldn't. xxlil

Big Bad Braids

Both Miu Miu and Alexander Wang had huge braids come down the runway and I love it! Haven't worn my hair in a braid in a while, but love how sophisticated yet easy and playful this is. Definitely predict fashionable ladies and editorials flaunting this in the months to come. xxlil

anxiously waiting...

One of my fav brands is the German brand Wunderkind, which I had the pleasure of working with. Wolfang Joop is a genius, and always combines some form of art movement into each collection. The show is always the last day of Paris Fashion Week. Cannot WAIT to see it!!!!!!!!! xxRach

Carefree Chloé

Chloé always has a lovely care free vibe with their collection, with a mix of 70s love child. This collection is quite neutral in color, but I am loving the ponchos, the long skirts, the khakis and greens with a mix of black leather shorts. And truth be told, i am a fan of denim on denim. I want to be wearing this next spring! Check more of the collection here. xxRach
